Are you a drifter? If you love drifting around the track at high speeds or watching others perform this exhilarating maneuver, then you’re going to want to go to the Street Life Tour 2015. In addition to drag racing, a car show, vendors, and much more, the tour also includes a drifting competition.
The eighth annual tour will be held on Friday, September 18, and Saturday, September 19 at the Kil-Kare Speedway in Xenia, Ohio. Drifters who are participating in the tour will get to practice on Friday. Each driver will be placed into a group when they register, and then these groups will have three time slots on Friday for practice following a tech inspection. It’s a great time to get to know the track and to put on a show for those who paid to attend the practice.
Saturday is when the real fun is! Drivers meet early that morning and then get right to it, competing within their groups once again. The top 16 drivers will be announced later than afternoon and then compete that evening. The top 8 drivers will then be announced, and they will compete once more for first, second, and third prize. It’s a full day of drifting, which is sure to be a lot of fun for both drivers and audience members.
Remember that all drifters and their vehicles have to meet the rules laid out in the 2014 US Drift Competition Rules and Regulations manual. This manual can be downloaded from the Street Life Tour website. Those who have decided to enter the competition will also need to go to the website and fill out a pre-registration form. This includes filling out a questionnaire, submitting a picture of both car and driver, and paying the entry fee. *Early Bird* Registrations can be made up until September 12.
